RODS SOUTHERN RUN RIDE REPORT
Well another great ride for our club, way down south to Lismore. From Kirra out through Bilambil, down to Tumbulgum, along the Tweed Valley way to the, WEDGE TAIL, Tweed Palliative care, SHOW AND SHINE, where the THMCEC donated $100 for their worthy cause.
Then we rode out through Mur’ Bah to Uki pub for a short stop. Then down Kyogle road to Cawongla, turned onto Rock Valley rd, then onto Rosehill rd and on to Nimbin rd into Lismore.
An excellent selection of roads by all involved.
We had some problems with corner markers, remember all club members and guests are expected to corner mark if they are the rider following the lead rider.
Anyone, especially a club member seeing a corner unmarked should immediately stop and mark that corner, don’t complain about the corner being unmarked, mark it, then let the road captain know at the next stop, don’t let “tail end Charlie“ El Presidentea Harry get cranky, cause he bloody will.
Lunch at the Northern Rivers Hotel was awesome, the burgers and chips specially supplied for our ride were spectacular.
The raffle prize a bottle of bourbon, had Karma smiling down on yours truly and was very gratefully accepted after many a forlorn raffle ticket on many a ride.
Local knowledge was supplied by Tony for a easy ride out of Lismore onto the Bangalow rd where we turned left and up onto the Old Hwy where we then turned onto the Coolamon Scenic drive and into Mullumbimby, where we stopped at the middle pub and had entertainment from the SWAMP CATS blues band, which was an added bonus, everyone really enjoyed them.
We then rode out to the expressway and most headed home with a few choosing Mooball Pub as one last stop after a very long and enjoyable ride, definitely one of the best!
Also a huge THANK YOU to Jayco for a fine effort with the back up trailer, not only was this a fairly long run but we had 4 stops where he had to find a parking spot. Well done mate.
