Crams Farm Run 2020

Well after a complete washout in January club members decided at the monthly meeting to replace the Over The Hill Run with Crams Farm, which turned out to be a great decision with 50 motorcycles turning up on a overcast morning ready to enjoy a great day. We left the club at just after 10am NSW time with Jeff and Brett (Cassies our fantastic back up drivers young Son) leading the way on the Indian. We made our way up the Gold Coast Highway out through Currumbin Valley and up over Tomewin Range where we struck a drizzle of rain but it is always a great ride over there in just about any weather. A set of pop up traffic lights at the Southern side of Tomewin held up a  few bikes but with corner markers doing their job we all headed out past Crystal Creek, Chillingham and over the hill to Tyalgum without losing anyone. From there it was into Bray Park turning right toward Uki but making a left turn at Byangum Bridge and up over the very scenic hills into Murwillumbah where we turned right and headed out to the Stokers Siding turnoff and on to the Mount Warning Hotel for our first and only stop before heading on to Crams Farm. We received awesome support from the Uki Pub once again with them donating a bottle of spirits, members, guest riders and locals also showed great support by making the raffle a great success, I have to mention young Brett here, what a great kid he is not only putting up with my music aboard the Indian but also pitching in to help me do the raffles by carrying around and displaying the THMCEC decanter set which was to be drawn out at Crams Farm, well done mate.  After Leon winning the bottle of spirits and a refreshing beverage it was out to Crams Farm where Harry and Phil had a great lunch set out for all the hungry people, the people who volunteer to do this catering on our runs (and those that help prepare prior, you know who you are) do a fantastic job donating their time and some missing out on a ride just for the betterment of us, and these catered runs are what really sets our club apart from others so if you can spare a Sunday morning or even help prepare the day prior to a run please contact a committee member and let them know asap you won’t be operating alone and your help will be more than greatly appreciated.  Dollar Bill O’Brien won the great THMCEC hip flask set and several other people won T shirts etc so congratulations to all the raffle winners. After lunch people started to head off home or continuing on further rides with a few of us heading different ways but meeting up at the Tumbulgum Tavern for final drinks. The THMCEC are grateful to everyone who turns up and enjoys a great day out with our great club on our runs always remembering we are a non profit club and all monies raised not only on ride day raffles but also at our raffles on Thursday nights at the Kirra Sports Club and Saturdays at the Coolangatta Hotel go back into the community helping to support Kids In Need as well as several cancer funds etc so once again THANK YOU. Heaps more photos and video of this run are on our facebook pages  or Anyone who has interesting photo’s etc of any of our runs please let us know. Jeff.
